A WORD BY THE COMPOSER:
My Piano trio was originally written for the Zuerich Piano Trio and got subsequently recorded and performed a lot by the Swiss Piano Trio all over the world. The last American group playing the Trio was the Eroica Trio on one of their US Tours.

This piece reflects my artistic intentions as a composer of chamber music of our time. It combines modern Latin or Jazz Rhythms, derived from our recent heritage, with classical form and counterpoint. It also taps into the riches of 14th and 15th century music, transforming old mathematical ideas into music. The resulting hidden structures behind the music lets the listener into an enchanted garden of unpredictable musical events. Combined with the driving rhythms of our century in the outer movements the piece represents a holistic experience of our time. Something that classical music is supposed to do in the humble opinion of this composer.

I am also very proud to announce this performance as the first NYC performance of this work, and the first performance of all 5 movements in the USA.

This concert is also part of my 50 birthday music series all over the planet, where I try to show all the different aspects of my work as a composer
