Lyric's 14th season to open on October 19, 2011 with the Swiss Piano Trio honoring the 50th Birthday of Swiss-American composer Daniel Schnyder, presenting the U.S. Premiere of his complete Piano Trio 1999/2000.
The Lyric is launching a new concert series, That OTHER Music - Die ANDERE Musik, exploring the works of composers affected by totalitarian regimes, such as the Nazi's and Stalin on February 9, 2011 at the Kosciuszko Foundation. Read the complete press release here

March 12, 2010: Two New York Philharmonic Virtuosos join the Lyric's Artistic Advisory Board
We are very proud to announce that Robert Langevin, Principal Flute of the New York Philharmonic, and Liang Wang, Principal Oboe of the New York Phiharmonic have agreed to join the Lyric's Artistic Advisory Board.
In doing so, they add their names to the illustrious group of artists, who already support the artistic leadership of the Lyric:

March 9, 2010: 2010 Lyric Awards Announcement
At its annual Benefit Gala on March 9, 2010, the Lyric issued its first ever Lyric Award of the Golden Sound to Robert Langevin, Principal Flute of the New York Philharmonic for his mellifluous, extraordinary, beautiful playing and exquisite musicianship which enhance our lives and add to the rich cultural fabric of New York City.
The same night, the Lyric issued its first ever Lyric On Board Award to music lover and Lyric Board Member Michèle Pesner for Outstanding Service to the Lyric from A-Z.
Both awards were presented by Lyric's Founder and Artistic Director, Dr. Joan Thomson Kretschmer.
