In January of 2004, Reggie Bahl heard a moving and inspiring performance by a young but struggling chamber music group that would change the course of his life. After serious soul searching and with no knowledge of the industry, he began to familiarize himself with classical music. Soon after, he quit his lucrative marketing job in the shipping industry and incorporated his own artist management company, Manhattan Music Ensemble on Valentine’s Day, 2004.
Ever since, Reggie has helped launch the career of numerous young classical groups, in addition to expanding visibility of prominent renowned artists. He has also helped present concerts, as well as establish fine arts series in towns often bypassed by major classical groups, and introduced his artists to over 2000 venues in North America and Europe.
Reggie's story has been profiled by Chicago Sun-Times, Musical America, WABC Radio and other regional media outlets. He has been invited by The Juilliard School to conduct career workshops for young artists and has been involved in the school’s Professional Mentoring Program.
As the Executive Director of Lyric, Reggie is continuing and expanding the organization's tradition of presenting world class artists to the audience in the New York metro area. He considers it his calling to introduce classical music to young children, especially those not exposed to it. Reggie has launched a music education program - Classicool (classical music in school). Under the banner, he is organizing free musical programs at NYC elementary and middle public schools for under- priviliged kids.
Reggie is an avid golfer and has a deep interest in metaphysics, geopolitics and finance. He has traveled to over a 1000 towns and cities on both sides of the Atlantic, and proudly considers New York his favorite city in the world!
